Conditions of Agricultural Business Households in Lampung Province ST2023 Results

The 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) is the seventh agricultural census held by BPS-Statistics Indonesia every 10 (ten) years since 1963. The implementation of ST2023 is a mandate of Law Number 16 of 1997 concerning statistics and refers to a number of recommendations from FAO which stipulates "The World Program for the Cencus of Agriculture (WCA) Covering the Period 2016-2025”. One of the outputs of the ST2023 activities is to find out the number of Agricultural Business Households (RTUP) in an area. Agricultural Business Households (RTUP) are households that maintain/control/carry out agricultural activities with the aim of selling/exchanging some or all of the results (especially food crops, including those for their own consumption).

Based on the results of ST2023, the number of RTUPs in Lampung Province reached 1,332,187 households. This number has increased by 8.62 percent compared to 2013, namely 1,226,455 households. This increase in RTUP shows that the agricultural sector is still in demand by the people of Lampung Province over the last decade. With this increase, it is hoped that it can have a positive impact in improving farmers' welfare, efforts to increase food security, and increase the contribution of the agricultural sector to the economy of Lampung Province.
