The Literacy Rate (AMH) for Lampung Province has reached 97.33 percent

February 19, 2024 | Other Activities

The population's ability to read and write can be seen based on the Literacy Rate (AMH) indicator. The AMH measure is used to determine how many residents in an area have the basic ability to expand access to information, thereby increasing their knowledge and skills, which ultimately means the population is able to improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and their country in various areas of life. AMH is also an indicator of achieving the social pillar SDGs target, namely indicator 4.6.1 (a), which guarantees that by 2030 all teenagers and the proportion of population groups.

In 2023 in Lampung Province, AMH aged 15-24 years will reach 99.91 percent and AMH aged 15-59 years will reach 99.40 percent, while AMH aged 15 years and over will be 97.33 percent. This is assumed because the age group 15 years and over also includes elderly people whose literacy skills are lacking or many of whom have forgotten or cannot even read and write. Apart from that, the functional literacy program is only specifically for residents aged 15-59 years. AMH achievements for 15 years and above still have gaps in each characteristic. In terms of gender, the AMH attainment for women aged 15 years and over is lower than men (96.37 percent compared to 98.26 percent).
